What areas do you serve?

We build on Cayuga Lake, Seneca Lake, Keuka Lake, and Canandaigua Lake in New York's Finger Lakes. Our office is located at 1801 Kings Hill Road, Penn Yan, NY.

Do you work on both residential and commercial properties?

Yes. Brawdy Marine Construction services both commercial and residential properties.

How do you build a custom dock?

We begin each project with an on-site visit to assess your waterfront. Our custom dock construction involves:

  • Driving 6" or 8" steel piles into the lakebed until refusal using our barge and pile driver hammer
  • Adding steel H-beams as a framework for stability and longevity
  • Framing with pressure-treated joists and iron angles
  • Finishing with pressure-treated wood or composite decking with hidden fasteners, and wood or composite fascia

How do you build a custom deck?

For custom decks, our approach may involve:

  • Pouring concrete into Sonotubes to create solid footings
  • Framing the structure with pressure-treated supports, joists, and beams
  • Installing pressure-treated or low-maintenance composite decking with hidden fasteners and fascia

We build single-tiered or multi-tiered decks and can add multi-level stairs for access to your dock or deck.

What materials do you use for seawalls and retaining walls?

Our top choice for building enduring seawalls is Everlast Synthetic vinyl sheet piling. We also build with pressure-treated lumber, white oak, or steel. Whether you choose vinyl sheet piling, lumber, white oak, or steel, our construction process is the same.

What types of boat lifts and hoists do you install?

We install custom boat hoist lifts (covered and uncovered), boat lifts, and hoists for boats and jet skis. Lifts can be freestanding or integrated into new or existing docks, and we can install boat lift remotes with a limit switch or other specialty items.

We source our lifts from suppliers including BH-USA, Fix Marine Supply, and Deco Boat Lifts, heavy-duty lifts exceeding 10,000 pounds for large watercraft.

How do you determine the right boat lift for my watercraft?

We consult closely with you and request your boat specifications to engineer the ideal custom boat hoist lift. We consider:

  • Your lake — including the condition of the lake bottom
  • Your watercraft — its overall weight and dimensions, which determine the size and weight capacity of the lift
  • Your property — landscape, existing infrastructure, and aesthetic preferences

Do I need to prepare my property before construction begins?

No. Our full-service approach means you do not need to prepare your property before we begin. We can access your waterfront site by land or water, remove debris, reconstruct deteriorating shorelines, seawalls, and retaining walls, and perform landscape maintenance as needed.

Is Brawdy Marine Construction accredited?

Yes. Brawdy Marine Construction is an accredited business with the Better Business Bureau (BBB).

Where can I see examples of your work?
